Our Mission
The COLORS of LUPUS Nevada is the first of its kind in
the state of Nevada. Its
mission is to reclaim the lost quality of life stolen by the lupus
disease by providing an establishment staffed with a permanent,
compassionate and knowledgeable workforce to ensure continuous and
sustainable support for those diagnosed or soon to be diagnosed, with
lupus.
Through our proposed vision and mission, the COLORS of
LUPUS Nevada will:

House and provide accurate
and current information on lupus and its effects;
·
Build a base of medical
professionals who have agreed to provide medical care at discounted fees to
members who are uninsured or have limited medical
coverage;
·
Provide a referral listing
of professional services currently unavailable to those with lupus, such as
legal advice/counseling, transportation, alternative treatments and medical
support;
·
Inform and introduce
alternative treatment and products with proven or potential benefits in
alleviating the stressful and debilitating symptoms of lupus. The future goal
is to be able to supply and subsidize those with fixed and/or limited income to
have direct access to affordable alternative treatments such as acupuncture,
reflexology, massage therapy and physical therapy;

Provide a network support
system for family members and friends in learning, accepting and coping with
lupus among close, personal loved ones, and;
·
To provide a “Phone Buddy”
system for caregivers and members afflicted with lupus.
We firmly believe that
developing and maintaining the COLORS of LUPUS Nevada will enable
those with lupus to be proactive, productive and purposeful members
of our society; and, to attain that quality of life we, as human
beings, perpetually pursue.
